I have Office pro XP SP3 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher) running on Windows XP pro SP3.
I'm thinking of trying out the Office 2010 pro trial offered at
http://www7.buyoffice.microsoft.com/emea1/product.aspx?family=o14_officepro_try&country_id=GB
but before doing so I want to be sure that neither install, use nor uninstall of the trial version of Office pro 2010 will affect in any way my current installation of Office pro XP. I only have the one PC (Dell XPS 630i, which more than meets the stated system requirements for Office 2010). I do not want to uninstall Office pro XP whilst trialing Office 2010, nor do I plan to replace Windows XP.

It's possible to use multiple Office versions on one Computer, but
there might be some slight problems:

Also, if trying Outlook 2010, can I import my Outlook XP .pst file into Outlook 2010 and subsequently, if need arises, import the Outlook 2010 .pst (or its equivalent) back into Outlook XP?

Make sure to use the same pst file and don't cerate a new (unicode)
pst file. You don't need to import that file, just use it as the
delivery location in Outlook.

If you create a new unicode file you have to 'convert' it to a ANSI
file, see:

(Same applies to Outlook 2010)
