and installed them just fine. Got the Win95 maze, which is OpenGL, up and running, and it was installed on the Desktop. Only the SCR file was needed, but I already have the OpenGL libraries installed.
I even installed the old Win 3.1 screensavers, which still have the old style config dialogs. The only one that didn't actually install was Flying Windows, but it runs if I double-click it or select test. I can configure it and the config sticks.

Just nothing? Do you get an error? Just not listed in the screensavers tab?
My other question is: Are these MS screensavers, or something different?

In post 5. 'Whoops !!' I have stated that they are listed with the screensavers in the Properties box on the desktop. When I click on 'Preview' I get a black, blank screen. Also the existing functional screensavers actually can be seen in a small window in the properties box, working and without using 'Preview.'
The screensavers came from an IBM OEM version of ME. Some are easily recognisable as MS screensavers including the very familiar 'Underwater' and another one I know of 'Dangerous Creatures.'

Thank you. I will check if these files are on my ME computer. Will these files also make all the other screensavers functional? In which directory should they be installed?
Regarding underwater screensavers, worldstart.com (excellent source of a variety of cheap software and small hardware items -- shipped free in the USA) is always flogging some amazing underwater screensaver. I might just purchase it next time it is advertised. They have specials at considerably reduced prices on Saturdays and Sundays.

as the other screensaver files. Probably /system32 is best for all of them. I believe those two other DLLs are for any of the screensavers of the same ilk. Underwater, Dangerous Creatures, and whatever else came with the original Win 98 Plus! Pack for Kids.
Giving me one of the screensaver names definitely helped, as I've never had any of those, but I do remember them from several XP Home installations (OEM as well).
I'll check further on the other screensavers in this pack.

However, in the following thread, some issues with the screensaver names has been mentioned. Apparently, they all might end up named 'Wildlife32' in your screensaver settings, but as you say they are already listed, you may not have this issue.

Install package for Win98 Plus! themes for XP or Vista------

That way, you have the entire theme that goes with the SCR; sounds and wallpaper.

I don't know about Windows 98 Plus but I did install Windows 95 Plus and it looked so awful I uninstalled it.
The Underwater was THE standard screensaver for Windows 98 (regular). All the computers in the big retail stores used it, so I don't think it was a part of 'Plus' (more like Minus)
Well anyhow I will check those other files you mentioned (didn't have time today) and wait for my Super Dooper Underwater screensaver to arrive from worldstart.com

I had them included in a 98SE disk, but they weren't in another Win98 install. I can never tell what was standard or OEM or what. They are supposedly the same files that were in ME, etc.

Thank you very much indeed Sir. I installed the files WL32DLL.DLL and WILDLB32.DLL in Windows System directory and now all the ME Screensavers that I copied are fully functional. You may be interested to know that in XP Windows Explorer, these files are marked: 'Microsoft Plus ! Screen Saver.'
It was easy to locate the files on ME because it still used Windows File Manager.
