Wii Oboro Muramasa Isotopes
Posted By admin On 02.08.19Muramasa: The Demon Blade has been listed as one of the Video games good articles under the good article criteria. If you can improve it further, please do so. If it no longer meets these criteria, you can reassess it. Review: May 30, 2016. (Reviewed version). |
So, when the game's developer revealed Oboro Muramasa Youtouden for Wii back in 2007, the eyes of gaming took notice. Muramasa will follow in the footsteps of Odin's Sphere in concept, but it's also a very new experience fans should be excited about.

Title[edit]
I've notice lately that in materials the Japanese title is 'Oboro Muramasa', and omiting the 'Yōtōden'. Has it been changed, or is it just a shortened form? --Fallen_RealityT/C 03:03, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Story[edit]
The story is incomplete, would anyone care of filling that blank space in the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by The History Writter Guy (talk • contribs) 23:08, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
Interesting press tidbit[edit]
Apparently, Momohime isn't wearing any panties according to what the developers said at a press conference:http://nintendo.joystiq.com/tag/oboro-muramasa-youtouden/(Psychoneko (talk) 17:04, 11 April 2009 (UTC))
- Gah, I meant this link: http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/04/01/muramasa-staff-answers-fans-disgusting-questions/ (Psychoneko (talk) 17:06, 11 April 2009 (UTC))
- So? It's feudal Japan. What do you expect? 142.26.194.190 (talk) 20:13, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Do Kisuke and Momohime Meet?[edit]
During their individual storylines, do they encounter each other? 142.26.194.190 (talk) 20:13, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- This happens two or three times for each story line in the hot springs. Ruud (talk) 23:33, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- They meet up in some of the endings as well. 207.216.200.81 (talk) 00:18, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Tachi and Odachi[edit]
The article states that they use Tachi's and Odachi's, That is incorrect, especially in the case of Odachi's, which were not used in combat, and if they were, they were used only on horseback. The same applies to the Tachi which was also mainly used on horseback, and rarely used on the ground (unlike the Odachi, which was never used on the ground). The sword types need to be changed; if I don't get a reply, I will do to myself. Good luck! (Darkanius (talk) 02:26, 12 August 2010 (UTC))
- Then be bold and change it to tachi to katana and odachi to nodachi. Besides, it's a video game. Look at the swords from the Soul Calibur series. Real zweihanders don't look like the swords Seigfried uses, but it's artistic lisence. On second though, I'll change it. 173.180.75.13 (talk) 10:18, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Shigurui[edit]
The statements regarding the Shigurui seems to be incorrect. I have beaten the game on Muso and it unlocked the Shigurui mode. I am also pretty sure that Shigurui uses 'hold attack to block' like in Muso, and not 'this mode plays in the same fashion as Shura Mode' as mentioned in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.228.199.174 (talk) 20:42, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Edit request[edit]
This sentence is not quite true:
- 'A special edition of Muramasa Rebirth exclusive to Japan contained all four DLC episodes alongside the original content.'
While it's true that the collection is only released in Japan in physically form, but the same collection, titled 'Muramasa Rebirth Complete Collection' in the West, is also available in the North American and European PSN Stores.
Oboro Muramasa Wiki
Also is this sentence grammatically correct: 'Kamitani did create design proposals for versions on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but went undeveloped development due to development costs.'
I would make the edit(s) but I kinda lack the English composition skills to do so. Sillent DX (talk) 15:18, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
+1: in the lead section: 'It released to moderate sales and mixed to positive reviews', while in the reception section: 'The Demon Blade received critical acclaim' Sillent DX (talk) 17:35, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Description :
Based on ancient Japanese lore, Murumasa: The Demon Blade plunges players into the mystical Genroku era, ruled by the skilled shogun Tsunayoshi Tokogawa. But this culture is threatened; Tokugawa’s thirst for power leads to a conflict over the enormously powerful, though cursed, Demon Blades. Used in hatred, drenched in blood, the cursed blades condemn those who use them to tragedy, madness, and untimely deaths. As chaos spreads, denizens from the netherworld breach their realm as these malevolent swords summon evil spirits — and the Dragon and Demon Gods as well.
Featuring hand-drawn 2D art reflecting the heritage and tone of the storyline, Muramasa: The Demon Blade transports players into a little known mythology, envisioned by the creators of the critically acclaimed Odin Sphere. Players take on the role of a male ninja or female kunoichi, utilizing their ninja prowess to traverse the clever side-scrolling levels that feature vertical progression as well as the traditional horizontal stage advancement.
